Before we discuss Dispoteca’s value proposition, it is useful to understand the industry we operate in and what value it brings to stakeholders today.
IT Asset Disposition (ITAD), or What Happens to Used Business IT Equipment?
When an enterprise refreshes their fleet of employee laptops, or a data center upgrades a rack of servers, the IT equipment being replaced needs to go somewhere. Most organizations would like to recover any residual value from those assets, and there may be security and compliance issues to consider as well.
The suite of services addressing this need (decommissioning, data destruction, shipping and logistics, and value recovery) is typically provided by an ITAD vendor on a one-time or recurring contractual basis.

We want to enable ITAD services to be ordered in minutes with a few clicks, rather than negotiated in weeks with phone calls, meetings, and presentations. Amazon made data center procurement instant and scalable with their AWS cloud. GrubHub made food delivery ubiquitous and convenient with their app and driver network. Dispoteca streamlines and simplifies ITAD service delivery with our platform and our partner network.
Our vision has a few core tenets:
- Convenient – It should be easy to order and schedule services.
- Scalable – Projects of all sizes should be simple to manage and cost efficient.
- Transparent – All project artifacts (asset lists, certificates of destruction, financials, etc.) should be trackable and reportable.
- Compliant – Customers should have confidence that their compliance requirements are met automatically for every project.
- Integrated – Where possible, data sharing between existing systems and Dispoteca should be automatic.
Using Dispoteca, it should be as easy to securely sell, dispose, and recycle IT assets as it was to purchase them.
